Supercharger Screeching

Alright, so I'm having a strange problem with my R53 lately. It seems that when I go above about 5K RPMs I get this really high pitched screeching from the right side of the engine area. I tested to see of the pulley I just installed was slipping by painting a reference mark and then making it screech, but it was fine. The problem seems to get better (starts at around 5.5-6K) if I really start to warm it up by driving hard. I'm going to check the fluid level in the front of the supercharger tomorrow. The supercharger on there now is only about 20K miles old so I'd hate to have to replace it with another rebuilt one. Can anyone help me? I'm going to try to get a video from an iPhone up tonight for better reference.

Sounds like a slipping belt....
Try a smaller one...like a 535 length belt first. Tye stock, or even the jcw belt will slip at higher rpms with even slight wear.
The sounds of a failing sc is more of a constant screech/grinding/chanin dragging clanking sound as opposed to just a hi rpm screech....high rpm screach is almost always the belt.

+1 on what Zippy NH said. Replace the belt before you go to all the work of pulling the SC off again.

Get another belt anyway, same belt / same mfg, and one will slip, one won't.
Sometimes there is just a difference in rubber compuonds from belt runs, sometimes just simply dirt or oil from the shipping process.

yep, turns out it was just the belt. Thank you guys for convincing me to start with the simple stuff first, and thanks to Way for shipping that belt so damn fast!
