Key "Rod" in column broke?

I went to start the car a couple of days ago and the key just turned, no resistance, didnt engage, didnt start... I thought maybe the starter switch on the opposite end of the key, but upon further inspection/disassembly I found the metal rod behind the key cylinder was broken in half!

My question is: is there a company that sells the small components inside the column individually; or do I have to buy a whole steering column??

Does anyone have a spare column that wants to sell me this rod?

Its the metal rod that extends from the cylinder to the starter switch.

Thanks in advance for any help.
