OBDII scanner & Torque App

I'm sure some of you have gave this a go...
I recently got an SES light and bought a bluetooth OBDII scanner on Amazon and downloaded the Torque app for Android.

I read in many of the reviews that it could read error codes... I can't seem to find a place to even read error codes in this app. Has anybody done this? Does it even work with our cars? I have an R53.

I was hoping to find some OBDII software for my laptop that could connect to the bluetooth interface but have had no luck so far.

On my torque app, the main screen has the option to check fault codes. I love the app. It resets the codes also
