Personally, I think the best looking frame is a plain thin bezel on all sides with no adornments at all. MINI sells a good quality one but it's expensive: http://www.shopminiusa.com/SEARCH/license/
Or you can go with something like this:

I found a cheap chrome MINI plate frame on Ebay.
I liked it, but after a couple years, it started rusting...So, I painted it Liquid Yellow to match Butters.
I like that it blends into the background, and now I have tinted my plate yellow & like it even more.
The BMV needs to create a color-line of plates so you can match/or clash your car.
Just be creative...nobody else can be the you that you are.

Most people on this forum share a passion. We like to show off by posting pictures and talking about what we've done to our cars and where we like driving them.
Also keep in mind this forum is public and open to anyone who has a computer and an internet connection. Someone comes on here, likes your car. Knows what you have in it. Knows where you live... like you live in Breckenridge, Colorado. You don't blank out your license plate. Now he knows exactly which car he wants to steal/rob.
Make sense now?

Well, let's put this into perspective.

I'm pretty sure I have a better chance of getting carjacked in Denver, than that hapenning. Although that would turn out very bad for the carjacker.
I guess if you think blacking out the information on your plate somehow makes you feel more safe, even though it's openly displayed everywhere you drive, I guess thats a good thing.
But I could get far more information from an email header than a plate #, if I was a crook.
Sorry to hijack this thread.
I think there was a GP plate in the marketplace a bit ago.
Carry on.

Not really. Car theft is more of a crime of opportunity than someone from SoCal for example, liking my car they saw on a forum, flying out here, driving around till they see my plate, or somehow conning the DMV to give them my address, casing the joint, and stealing my car when I'm sleeping.
