Looking for a cool license plate frame..ideas?

I have the standard goofy MINI license plate on the back of my JCW MCS. I'm trying to find something a little better looking...more "performance" orientated. I've seen that ALTA makes a neat looking one.......any other ideas?

Thanks

Why not just have one made? IQ Raceworks would be kind of cool on a frame. If that's your company then I would rather advertise for it rather than Alta (no offense Alta).

Personally, I think the best looking frame is a plain thin bezel on all sides with no adornments at all. MINI sells a good quality one but it's expensive: http://www.shopminiusa.com/SEARCH/license/

Or you can go with something like this:

I didn't know you could get custom frames made. Who makes them??

I found a cheap chrome MINI plate frame on Ebay.

I liked it, but after a couple years, it started rusting...So, I painted it Liquid Yellow to match Butters.

I like that it blends into the background, and now I have tinted my plate yellow & like it even more.

The BMV needs to create a color-line of plates so you can match/or clash your car.

Just be creative...nobody else can be the you that you are.

Saw one my co-pilot liked a whole bunch but didn't get a picture of it:

The frame said 'But....but....I'm the princess...'

Some would say it's like not putting your SSN out on the Internet.

Makes sense to me.

Well, considering how many people have access to your plate just by seeing you drive by, seems kind of silly to me.

Well, let's put this into perspective.

Most people on this forum share a passion. We like to show off by posting pictures and talking about what we've done to our cars and where we like driving them.

Also keep in mind this forum is public and open to anyone who has a computer and an internet connection. Someone comes on here, likes your car. Knows what you have in it. Knows where you live... like you live in Breckenridge, Colorado. You don't blank out your license plate. Now he knows exactly which car he wants to steal/rob.

Make sense now?

Not really. Car theft is more of a crime of opportunity than someone from SoCal for example, liking my car they saw on a forum, flying out here, driving around till they see my plate, or somehow conning the DMV to give them my address, casing the joint, and stealing my car when I'm sleeping.

I'm pretty sure I have a better chance of getting carjacked in Denver, than that hapenning. Although that would turn out very bad for the carjacker.

I guess if you think blacking out the information on your plate somehow makes you feel more safe, even though it's openly displayed everywhere you drive, I guess thats a good thing.

But I could get far more information from an email header than a plate #, if I was a crook.

Sorry to hijack this thread.

I think there was a GP plate in the marketplace a bit ago.

Carry on.

True, but that doesn't mean someone who lives in Denver isn't on this forum either. I agree that you can get more information from an email header, but the more information you put out there, the more the possibility. Some people feel more secure blanking it out. If you're ok with putting it out there, more power to you. That's your choice. That's all i'm saying.

Am I the only one who is wondering about the blood all over Not4no1's R52? I'm assuming it's Halloween related?

I put a classy little frame from my school on my plate. It was chrome so I had to paint it black to match my theme.
