PS Leak DIY?

Does anyone have a link to quick fixes or a full swap for the PS leak issue on the 03 Cooper S?

Thanks!

Where is the pump leaking? From the hose connection or the hose itself.

Here is a diagram so you can point to the location.

Thanks

Seems just the connection. Tuning shop told to replace the line but if I just need new clamps I'm in!

Yup, just pull the clamp on the hose and put a new worm gear clamp on.
I have fixed my PS leaks this way.

Looks like the #1 line .

The lines can be squeezed a little and indented and then with you add a new MINI part hose clamp it will leaks again.

Its the intake line and should be the short hose.

Here is a link to check for additional leaks:

Check both lines to be sure they are not both leaking. Here is the clamps also , best to check both and replace also.

shop told me #11 hose was leaking. Checked back with my buddy who discovered it. #11a the most expensive. Now, are there any instructionals on how to perform the swap? I'm guessing a lift is preferred and other than that it is' just removing and replacing.then refilling with new fluid. The post you provided was very helpful visually! Thanks for your help!

Where can I find the tool to install those clamps? Or can I use the regular hose clamps that screw tighten. I am getting ready to replace the #1 hose after I place my order with you. Even with the #11 hose dry as a bone (no leaks) should I replace that hose at the same time. My 06S just flipped 65,000 miles. Thanks

IMO I'd buy a new hose and a worm clamp.. When I had a PS leak I bought all the new lines and now have a spare on the shelf for when the other one goes bad. I need to buy a spare PS pump too..

Funny how your garage will fill up with so many "spare" parts from swapmeets that were great deals for "if or when" you need them....
