EBC yellows

I've been reading that ebc yellow pads will eat the stock rotors away faster then the pads life. I'm wondering if non stock but average rotors (not sure whats on there right now but definitely not stock) wont. And I am choosing yellows, because my green stuff pads are gone and its been around 20k miles.

I haven't noticed much rotor wear with Yellowstuff. We use them on the track. We've been through 3 sets of Yellowstuff (very quickly) and the rotors are still half there.

Just a thought....
yellow on a cvt cooper might not get up to temp....they are more of a track pad. ..have you looked at the reds?? Imo they would be a better choice in a street/autox pad.

That's a pretty good point. Is the initial cold bite lacking? Im pretty aggressive driver as well, my last set of potenza grids lasted less then year, and during spirited driving like aggressive 20yo driving I get quite a bit of brake fade. I havent really looked into red, the greens were okay IMHO, I just dont want to be disappointed with the red when I could of spent a little more on the yellows.

The Yellowstuff pad is quite low friction. You have to move the pedal a ways further than you might expect before it has an effect, but it'll eventually stop you. It has most friction at lower temperatures, but its still not a lot. The main reason to use Yellowstuff is if you need something harder wearing than stock. It'll last about 3 times longer than a stock pad in extreme circumstances (such as on track). I've never felt the need for any except stock on the JustaCooper (even on track). If the Cooper-S and JCW which need the extra longevity, we'll go through a set of stock pads in one day. (And Yellowstuff may last three days.)
