My MINI smoked a Ferrari F40

Took the kids out to get a some Mother's Day cards and gifts and off in the distance I saw a gorgeous red sports car. I didn't recognize it so I asked my 10 y.o. son, "what kind of car is that?" He says, "looks like a Ferrari F-40". Having never seen one of these up close and personal I hurried up to the traffic signal and came up on his right. What a fine automobile  I had to merge left, so I punched it and let him taste the roar of my supercharger and magnaflow. Turned back to my son and said, "did you see me 'smoke' that Ferrari"?...he just laughed...." right Dad....right...I don't think he was racing" he chuckled.....well...a Dad can dream..

I'm sure he couldn't hear your Magnaflow at WOT even with his throaty V-8 sittin' at idle.

I don't know much about Ferrari's but for a gazillion dollars don't you at least get a V-12?

The F40 and a few others have a V8. Most like the testarossa or the F50 sport the V12.
That's a pretty smart kid at age 10 for pointing out that it was a F40. I think they stopped making them around 92. (I don't know I wasn't even 10 at that time. )

Speaking of a Ferrari F-40...check out this Movie Lotus vs. F-40

Those of you with dial up...go take a nap and come back, even with broadband it takes a bit.

I think I can take him....then I woke up.

The F-40 guy was just taking it out for its annual drive and was too nervous to do anything!

It was the same way when I had my '01 SVT Lightning. Every little Civic, Cavalier, etc that pulled up to me acted like an idiot. Some then even bragged about beating me. Pretty easy to do when I'm not racing. If I were to race every little *** that did that, I'd either be in jail or have lots of shares in oil/gas companies. 8mpg tends to be a beeatch after awhile.

If you say 3 liters is puny then you must be saying that all of the ferrari V8s are puny because none of their V8s have broken the 4 liter mark.

F40
Engine: V8
Capacity: 2936cc
Max Power: 478BHP @ 7000rpm
Curb Weight: 1200 kg / 2646 lbs
(Quite close to the weight of the new Mini)

I think that sounds sufficient.

yeah but it a) lacks cache, b) the person driving it is usually a bimbo, c) it probably don't have a Euro Parcel Shelf OR a MFSW (the three spoke kind)

Hmmm... let's see... 2646 lbs divided by 478 bhp equals 5.5 lbs per 1 bhp.

YUP! That'll work out just fine for me!

LACKS CACHET???

Did you know that Ferrari won't even sell you a F-40, or now the F-50 unless you have already owned several ferraris before? Too much car for people hung up on "cachet". We has a V-12 Ferrari for years and it was an amazing car, even it it was a 2+2. Did THAT lack cachet? I didn't think so. Only a class ride through and through.

The f-40 is a world-beater.

I saw an Enzo (the newest in the F-xx line) in Tokyo a few weeks ago. WWOOWWW! what a car.

Yes....I heard that not only is it rather difficult to acquire an Enzo, but you have had to owned, I think the F40 and F50 before being considered. And then they throw a celebration for each buyer at the factory with champagne and the whole nine yards.
I got free tea and cookies when I picked up my MCS
Cheerio,
