Realistic asking price?

Hello Fellow Miniacs,

Sadly it may be time to part with my beloved "Gossamer." (Like the red monster from Bugs Bunny, not the fluffy soft stuff) The family is getting larger and my requirements for cargo carrying capability has become apparent. That said, I wonder what a realistic asking price is for my 2005 MCS. KBB says about $9,000 but does not take into consideration that it's a 207hp car with extras. Below is a list of my upgrades. Any input/advice would be appreciated.

It's a 2005 with 77,000mi. Very clean, clean Carfax, 2 owner car. Sport, Premium, Chrono, and Cold Weather packages with limited slip differential. Heated leather seats, HID lights, Harmon Kardon stereo.

I am seriously considering the Countryman.

Upgrades: Alta CAI, Cat Back 1-ball exhaust (Alta), 15% reduction SC pulley (Alta), 17" Koenig wheels, M7 Strut reinforcement plates and bar, MSD ignition coil, Magnacore wire set, Brisk spark plugs, Alta Short Shifter Kit, Alta stubby antenna, FluidGel Vibration dampner (138mm crank pulley), R53 Tune by Jan@RMW Dyno results: 207hp@6,671rpm. 186lbs@6,161rpm, SportLink+2-bike rack

Everyone!

77k Miles, heated leather seats in great shape, H/K yes, and yes to all those packages. Only missing package is Convenience. I edited the original post with this data. Thanks for the reminder for stereo, seats, heaters and headlights.

It's pretty well loaded.

April 2013 KBB was showing a 05 with 70k good to excellent loaded for $12k. Thought it was a good deal when I got mine for $10.5k

Craig's list here has some 05 S with 90k for $11k right now

I'm sure it will be a little different in other zip codes.

I would look at your local market to see what things are going for -in addition to checking KBB and whatnot. If you have the time to sit on it, you could price it a thousand or two more than a loaded stock one with simular miles. (I know you spent a lot more than that on your mods,..I'm sure you know the game though) Hopefully you can find a buyer that really understands what you have.

Maybe someone else can chime in, but my feeling is that unfortunately you won't get out of it what you put into it.

I looked a lot for several months at the beginning of this year. Most expensive 2005 I saw was a JCW with very low miles (around 20k I think) it was like $16k.

Dont get caught up in kbb and tmv values....

The market can change monthly. Spend some time on the autotrader looking at simialr cars for sale and understand the market dictates what you can list it for. Look at it as if you were in the market to buy something similar and find the best deal you can as current lookers/buyers will do the same. Typically with multiple performance mods you are faced with 2 senarios.

1.) will sell towards the lower end of what the current market for similar stock mini's are selling for as you are selling to a much smaller crowd.

2.) you can wait it out at a higher price (could be 3 months+) to find the "right" buyer.

Looks like a great car that needs to find the right home, best of luck!!

AZ_R53 thanks for your feedback. I was very specific when I first bought this car so I completely understand what you mean. I did a lot of research and found this car to be exactly what I wanted to start with. It is going to be tough to part with her.
