Well I went out to my 2003 Cooper S and when I put the key in all the lights came on but no start. I immediately pulled the battery and had it checked, it checked fine as it is only 2 months old. My FOB works with the doors and I was able to push start it and it stayed running for 20 mins. Does that rule out the EWS? I removed he heat shield and tested the started with a test light and it had constant power. I then checked the trigger and it also got its signal when the key was turned. Bad starter???
ah nevermind then. it could be any number of things including just it being a one time problem. try some injector cleaner and or new plugs. how old are your plugs?
Well the fact that it has power at the starter and the trigger voltage was there upon turning the key, I would think that the fact that it wont turn over but everything else is working would point to a faulty starter right???
ahhh i must have missed that part, the starter wont turn the engine over? you may need a new starter, but try to clean up the contacts on the starter they may have corroded a bit. have you tried looking at what the voltage looks like when trying to crank?
