215-45-17!

As this way have been spoken to death

As all know for sake of explanation the RFT suck
I got an excellent deal on 215-45-17's

Ride now is excellent
One known issue of added instability at high speeds like a quick jerk of the wheel and the yaw factor is undesired to say the least.
Aside from adding extra air to remedy this will 3mm spacers all around be a good idea or to just the back wheels or the front?

I don't have any rubbing issues now but the ambiguity of the what if I need to veer out of the way of some road hazard at freeway speed is a variability that I don't like not to have little control over ;(

Any thoughts? Or just deal with it

I bet your front control arm bushings are worn out.

Ditto, check those bushings first, the extra width of the contact patch & most likely better grip of a non-RFT will magnify/multiply the feeling of a loose front end.

I have no issues with my 215/45/17's.

Absolutely, I forgot to mention that those where the first things I replaced on the car including a new clutch before I did an alignment with these new tiers.

I am deliberating on returning the spacers. But before I do I thought to ask some wiser folks that may have experienced the same issue.

Thanks for the comments.

A quick "jerk" of the wheel at high speed will cause instability to most vehicles. Solution: Don't do that! Think ahead, look ahead.

Swap to a newer larger rear sway bar will help with cornering at high speed, but jerking the wheel no matter what will cause a yaw effect.

That being done, the only thing I can think is that the extra traction that you're not use to having just may simply be that, a change in traction will of course change the feeling of stability in the car, first question I would ask is where is the movement coming from, is it possibly just a little more aggressive body roll, if so an adjustable rear sway bar on the right setting may just be the answer, I would suggest a little more experimentation to try & fine tune your diagnosis.

(^^lol, posting a the same time^^)

Yah I know the cure of "if it hurts don’t do it" prescription…

But before with the stock setup at high speed the stability was much much better with no yaw at all.

I guess going from stock to these new beefier tiers there is a trade off of ride comfort vs stability.

But the main question is with the added 3mm spacers improve this phenomenon?

Hard to return used spacers after the fact of not getting any performance back.

Also I have noticed the power band or the torque curve has shifted higher in RPM

Larger diameter wheel/tier = more rotational mass = lesspower.

Will a new dyno tune help with this?

So 3mm spacers yay or nay

45 bucks for 4, 3mm 4x100 aluminum center-centric spacers.
