R50/53 Pepper White on Newbury Street

I see a lot of MINIs in Boston as well, but I have yet to see a pepper white/black, which I thought was a great color combo when I saw it at the dealer. Seems like there are a lot of dark silvers, liquid yellows, and chili reds around. I don't mind the company, though... I wish even more people would buy them! Boston streets would be so much friendlier.

I will be in Boston today with my wife and daughter driving around with our Chili Red-on-Red MCS with Premium, Sport (17" wheels with performance tires), Cold Weather, and Black Panther Leather. With the Chili Red roof, the car is really red! Get lots of stares and love to talk to people about the car. Parked next to a red Porsche 911 yesterday and bumped into the owner who was just coming out to the parking lot and he was beside himself asking all kinds of questions (He had a Porsche!) They usually ask what it is, we say "It's a MINI", and they say "MINI what?" We then go on to explain the long genesis of this car (e.g., it is made by BMW, in England but BMW markets it separately from their standard line of cars, etc...)
Motor On! We will drive down Newbury this afternoon! hope to see you! Toot if you see us!

I was out looking for a new place today in South End. I saw 6 Mini Coopers (no MCSs) all parked in resident spaces! For those unfamiliar with Boston, South End is the hip, trendy section of town (like SoHo in NY). I guess I shouldn't have been suprised to find a higher than average concentration of Minis over there. Anyhow, there were several ps/b, one cr/w, one ly/w with driving lamps and bonnet stripes, and I found the pw/b! It was parked in a resident spot like the others b/t Columbus and Tremont on one of those charming streets. Great color combo! Sorry Tonygba, I didn't make it out to Newbury...the MCS spent most of the day parked on Tremont near Mass Ave. I saw all the South End Minis while on foot.
I'll be back in South End tomorrow checking the open houses. If I see any Coopers down there, I will toot and flash--the horn and lights, that is. Keep motorin'.
