Trouble code p0405

I've searched high and low for a possible solution. I have not been driving my car for most of the winter. It would sit for 2 to 3 weeks at a time. I had started it up and it threw the code Took it over to the auto parts for some oil and power steering fluid and had them scan for the codes. He said there is a small leak in the evap system....the code is P0405. EGR sensor A circuit low. Any causes or fixes?

I just read that there is no EGR valve. Can a faulty gas cap contribute to this code?

There is no EGR and this code is not for an EVAP leak. Are you sure this is the correct code?
Personally, I wouldn't trust the code reader from some national auto parts retailer. Bring your car to a professional for a correct diagnosis.

Yeah the code is correct, I seen it P0405. There may have been another one also that he failed to give me. I get where you coming from having a parts store read it. Either way there is still the code p0405 showing up.

Are you sure you're in the right forum? I can assure you that R50 and R53 Minis do not have an EGR valve.

The gas was probably a month and a half old. I'm recovering from elbow surgery and its hard for me to shift so I don't drive it much. I just filled again a few days ago. I was curious to see if the light would turn off with new gas. When I can i'm going to have it rescanned from a mechanic friend.
