Now my mom wants a Mini

Well when I told my mom I wanted a Mini to replace the old mazda (200k on her) She said it was a death trap cuz it was so small. Well I sent her the safty brochure that they gave me and then followed that up with the link to the Mini Vs. the F150. Well she was starting to come around that maby its not totally unsafe.

Well she was in town this week and I took her to see one at the dealer (I ordered an 05) She loved it. Said how easy it was to get into and out of. Loved the size of the boot. After she moved the seat forward she said she still cant reach the pettals. She loved the fit and finish and all the interior. Loved the sunroof and the shade. And so on, and so on, and so on...

Well she started to ask about price...She wants one. With the CVT but she wants one. She truly loved it. She is moving here in 2 months and her car (infinity) is just now 5 yrs old. So it might be time for her to downsize and upgrade

Good for her.

Maybe an MC with CVT and Premium package in Black/Black with aerokit in black trim.

Don't forget the HK audio upgrade and cordoba brown leather seats. Walnut or carbon fiber dash and get pedal extenders for those hard to reach places.

She'll never miss her Infinity with that set up.

I think as far as safety goes, the MINI is pretty darn good and much better than over 90% of what else is out there on the road. Just stay clear of very large and heavy moving objects in or around the side of the roads you travel on.

Hey! Isn't MINI going to offer the MCS with the CVT in '05??? I'd say go for THAT!!! So cool that she likes the MINI enough to want one, too! YAY! Send her over to NAM once she gets hers....we'll welcome her with open arms!

I now know five people who have walked away from the MINI cuz the S does not come with some sort of automatic. I also know a lot of them that have walked away cuz they were being sold the notoriously slow BRG job...but that is another story.....

Heh, I'm in a similar position...

My mom gave me all kinds of hell when I ordered my MC back in January "it's too small, unsafe, etc.". Fast forward to this past weekend... she got to drive it for the first time (she's seen it before but I'm just now to the point where I'm comfortable letting others give it a test drive).

She can't stop talking about it! "It's so FAST/nice/roomy/whatever". Anyhow, she's convinced now that she must have one. The best part is, she REALLY wants a CVT in Indie Blue.... since they don't make the IB anymore, she's seriously considering buying my car (assuming my loan, essentially).

This means I may (sooner rather than later) be trading "up" and joining the MCS club!

So yay for mom's falling in love!!!

Have to admit - I'm a mom who thought my son and husband were a little off because they wanted a mini. Well, folks, now I''m getting the mini and giving away the Durango. DH can keep his Infinity and DS can share with me. I have no idea how I am going to get my two dogs and all the luggage in for my weeklong trips to the mountains but, heh, we'll just cross that bridge when we get there!

I think this is my mid-life crisis - and what a glorious one it is
