Muscle cramp while shifting! Ouch

Today, I was setting in traffic in the MINI waiting for the turn arrow to make a left turn.

I was the third car in line to turn. While I had the clutch depressed, my calf muscle totally cramped up, and at the same time, the arrow turned green

I had to take the car out of gear, and just start rubbing my leg as best I could. I did turn on the emergency flasher and just kinda set there, as I sure as heck couldn't use my left leg. Pain...lots of pain.

I finally had to get out of the car and stand on my leg and still keep rubbing like heck to the muscle. I finally got it calmed down, but a mega cramp still

Couple of cars behind me just went around, and they were probably thinking...what the heck is that guy's problem

I have owned manual tranny cars in the past with much firmer clutch feel than the MINI so I think the problem is just my ole calf muscle ain't what it used to be

[QUOTE=D.J.]"Today, I was setting in traffic in the MINI waiting for the turn arrow to make a left turn." < If your sitting in traffic in gear with the clutch in your basicly riding the clutch and the MINI is telling you to stop it. >

Yeah, I know why I got the cramp, first of all I wasn't riding the clutch, I just had the clutch depressed all the way waiting for the light to turn.

Its this damn gungle heat back here. Iv'e been working alot out in the yard and sweatin way to much. Need to eat more bananas and drink more gatorade, or move back to California where I never got cramps or sweated.

I like the last option the best.

It's a sure sign of advanced age and geezerhood setting in. Fight it with all your might. A second MCS might just be needed.
