Just hit 150k, now what?!

Okay so i've had my silver R53 for just over 2 years and I finally snagged 150k the other week. She runs really really well but there are a few little things that need fixed. Mainly the coolant needs flushed to see if my radiator fan gives me probs and i'll from there BUT!!!!

Reason why I am here is to see what I should go over and replace now that i've hit this milestone. It's my daily driver for now till winter (when i'll start parking it in the garage for bad weather and to share with a 2nd car to keep mileage off of it except for fun time) and I do drive it pretty hard. teeheehee.... I have just replaced strut mounts, brakes, plugs, wires, use royal purple oil, year old kumho ecsta's, lots of plasti dip.... lol.

I have the obvious things on my radar to upgrade on my R53 (CAI, Supercharger pulley, belt tensioner, ignition coil, etc..) but with 150k on this engine I want to go over things that need fixed before pushing it harder. I did get the mini shop to give me a once over a few months ago and it came down to oil pan seal? and head gasket seal, power steering tube. So these are first things to do.... but what else? Thanks so much guys!!!!!!

Replace the spark plugs would be a good start if its been over 60k miles. Ive heard after 150k the head gasket and cylinder head valves could use some love and or replacement, also replacing the crank pulley. (Mine came apart a few weeks ago at 93k). Another good idea if ur still on the stock supercharger would be to re oil it so it doesnt run dry and chew itself to pieces. And gaskets rubber hoeses in general (more so the rubber gaskets) really should be replaced around that milage. Oh also if your ride seems jumppy and bumppy and not smooth and silent your control arm bushings are shot. ( another thing im currently replacing at 93k) as well as ur ball joints. Another great thing to replace is the entire suspention (i replaced my stock ones with new megan coilovers at 92k) Basicaly the entire car LOL Good luck!

Welcome to the club. Artoo is approaching 150,000 also. I am hoping for at least another 100,000.

Did you do the lower control arm bushings and the ball joints while in there? You should do the Harmonic Damper really soon if it has not been done already. Easy to do when you are doing the tensioner. Be sure the thermostat is not leaking and check the crank sensor seal. Be sure the low speed on the fan is working and the pans seem to always be leaking. Unless you think it is giving you trouble, the OEM coil is all you’ll need.

And hopefully you’ll get another 100,000 before you have to do it all again.

BMW mini specifically recommends Castrol synthetic...search royal purple a bit but I don't think that's the best thing to use...I feel like people have had bad experiences using it.
