Dpilgrim,
Do you have records available on your ownership costs - in particular service costs after the free maintenance ran out? I thought such info might be useful for people considering the one year extension to the full maintenance program.

Thanks.
I'll see what I can find. It might be a little hard to get the correct amount since my 50k warranty ran out on my last vacation.
Ok gang. I should hit the 100k mark some time next week. I was wondering if I'm going to be the first? Wonder if Mini USA will give me a gold star or something for this mile stone?
Hello MCS fanz, I have a 2002 MCS, new 7/2002; only option was 17" 8-spokes in Silver. I have 67,537 miles on my Chili Red Ripper! Mods: Brembo stock-sized drilled rotors, Mintex pads, stainless brake lines, ATE Blue brake fluid, K&N Intake system, Borla "Sport" exhaust (perfectly louder); custom Magnecor 10MM Ignition wires, Denso IK22 plugs (no they haven't loosened after 15Kmiles, checked them last night!). Why miles? 80 mile commute to work (LAX area). Problems: Gas Gauge goes to zero when you fill up, "Service Soon" light comes on every other day. Replaced stock Pirelli runflats with larger Falken 215/45/ZR17's at 45Kmiles; better ride, worse grip, 1/2 price of Pirelli's.
All these people from warm climates, CA, FL, etc... I'm curious to see someone in MI hit 100,000 as a year-round car. With out cratered roads, salt and extreme cold... Cars get torn up in this climate
What kind of Falkens did you put on your car? I recently put the Ziex's on my Flik wheels. My ride also improved but the handling went way down, compared to the bite my Pirelli's had going into the curves.
76,000 miles on a heavly moded car with very few problems
i have had spark plugs work themselves out for what ever reason and a wirering harness problem but nothing else. very happy with the car reliability
coop:smile:

I put a 78 Renualt 12 nordic wagon to bed with 150K miles on it.And from my sig you can see that cars are hard pressed here. And the poor thing drove mostly back roads while I was skiing.
AWESOME!!! let us know how it goes... with the race and the car.
What a great time we had. This event runs very smooth if no one goes off course. We were able to get only two practice runs in because 10 cars went OC. One BMW tore up his front end pretty bad but the trooper he was he tried but failed to run the second day. Runs times Sunday we a bit faster than the practice. There we 4 MINI's there. Two of us got first in class and 2 got 2nd in class. So all of the MINI's got a trophy.
I think someone told me this is the fastest, longest and oldest autocross in the USA. The mini's were able to hit speeds of 100 mph plus on this course. I believe Lang said it best : "The most fun you can have with your clothes on"
I have painted the silver parts to match the outside red.
Doug,
Did you remove the silver parts prior to painting, or did you leave them in place and mask surrounding areas? If you pulled the parts, can you explain how to do this without breaking parts?
