5th axle replaced in the last month

2002 mini cooper base model hardtop

so i recently replaced both of my axles due to bad vibration when exceeding 60+MPh. The vibration went away after both axles were replaced.

Couple days later i was driving at a normal speed on a dip and "boom" right axle pops off of the half shaft and destroys all the bearings.
had triple A tow it home, replaced the axle again the next day.

this time i was traveling at a slower speed and "boom" axle pops out of the half shaft again and destroys all the bearings. so triple A tows it home, this time i replaced the strut mounts cause they were squeaking alot, replaced the axle was well....

3 axles later still having the same problem?

does anybody have any suggestions on whats going on? what can cause this problem?

Are you using OEM axles? I have heard a lot of the aftermarket axles don't fit exactly right which may be what is happening to you, and or your not getting it seated in correctly...

I'm guessing you're not using oem. I had issues with aftermarket ones.

Maybe he is really lowered or modified on the front suspension ? Are the motor mounts damaged or something maybe ?

I really don't know, but are there C clips that are on the Mini's axles? Any get missed on the re-install?

its the passenger side CV axle that connects to the wheel hub and the half shaft. almost every time when going at a normal speed when hitting a dip the CV axle from the passenger side slides all the way out from the half shaft and tries to go back in and the bearings get destroyed.

my car is all stocked with stock struts and springs. its not lowered. the only reason why i replaced my axles was due to bad vibration.

i am using aftermarket axles from autozone, on the 4th time changing the axle i switch
to orileys lol but still have same problem :'(

i am very concerened buying a oem from mini for $550, just scared it might get destroyed and boom $550 down the drain

any help?

Driveshaft Shop axles are high quality. The basic ones are fine and under $200.

I was in a car that had the ball joints go and that pulled the wheel right out during a turn. I'm not sure how that would relate to Minis, but maybe there is a loose component allowing for movement of the wheel?

I'm no mechanic so I don't really know, but it sounds possible.

When I say pulled out, I mean the Shaft going to the wheel pulled out from the drive point.

No I think what happen was when I first replaced the axle, I loosened some motor mounts (thinking it was the motor mounts that caused the vibration so I was inspecting them at the same time when I replaced the axle) and when I was tightening the bolts to the motor mounts it could of pulled the motor toward the driver side more. Idk just my theory but I'm sure this is it
