I just put 13.5 gallons into a CooperS. Went 350 miles on the tank and got 26.5 mpg.

I put 12.9 in once. And at least 2 times I've been past the "0" miles left on the OBC, straight into the "---".

I know, I know, I need to get into a better habit.

The higher the year, the bigger the tank?

Is it possible that the '05 fuel tanks are a bit bigger than advertised? I have never gone below 6 miles on my range, and yet I always fill up with 13.5 or more gallons on an empty tank. (I've been trying hard to squeeze 14 gallons into her, but the highest I've gotten is 13.9) Anyway, I don't remember putting any more than 12 and some change into my '03 MCS.

MY RANGE INDICATOR READ 25 MILES, AND I RAN OUT OF FUEL!!!

I was on a very slight incline (and of course, in the heaviest lunch-time traffic at 1145)

Started right up after adding 2 gallons.

I recently took a 8,937 mile trip to Eureka (MORE) CA from Michigan. I averaged 29.9 on my 05 MCS with some mods. Many times I have put 13.8 and even one time put 13.9 gallons in the tank. I do top it off at every fill up. I have recorded every fill up since purchase, 37,000 miles ago. Overall average is 28.7. I did a hard run on the Dragon in May and reset the OBC before the run, it showed 8.5 MPG.

me slightly over 30 mpg, the most fuel i've put in was 13.7 gals. i know,
i know, the tank is suppose to hold 13.2 but the gas pump said 13.7
and yes it was up to fill neck

After spending too much time reading this whole thread I was surprised no one mentioned the possibility of the fuel pump measurements being off. Like Dyno's. Different #'s on different machines. I think the same holds true for gas pumps. I know that they are supposed to be certified and checked from time to time. But so are elavators. Ever been stuck in one?

The best I ever did was 373 miles on 13 gallons (05 MCS). I have never gotten less than 330 miles/tank with 3/4 of my driving on the highway at 75-90 mph. I rarely floor it, but I do drive spiritedly, just don't feel the need to floor it often.

I'm starting to feel really good about having my Cooper. I try to fill up when the red light comes on... there are times when i don't pay attention and go kind of low. I'll have to check my receipts, but i think the most i've filled up was 12 or something.

Trip to the dragon i just hit half tank when NekoWoman needed to pull over for gas cause she was on empty. I really poosy-footed it, and got well over 40 mpg. On the way back following Koolmini, though, i only got 38 mpg

I'm trying to remember the most miles i got on a tank... maybe 415/420?

Yea yea yea, keep bragging, just promise to smile and wave at us MCS drivers while we're filling up and you're driving by.

After last month's autocross, my 2003 MC 5-speed gulped down 13.5 gallons with 427 miles on the trip odometer

With 32K miles on the odometer, my average fuel consumption is 32.5 miles per gallon . BTW, that's calculating the old fashion way without the OBC .

On my GTP for example, I can get another gallon in it by slowly filling till the neck is full and the tank has settled. I tried this several times on the MINI, and it's just plain full the first time. I don't even give it a 2nd squeeze after it shuts off now, there's no point.
THANK GOD! There is an intelegent car company.

Coming from Diamler Chryslers, I routinely got an extra $5-7 dollars worth in the tank after the pump would automatically shut off. And that was back when gas was "Cheap" below $1.759 a gallon

I've taken mine down to 0 once.. but the strangest thing is....

The day I had to fill up from an empty tank I filled maybe around 13.8899999... whatever gallons

But a few times... a few being many times... i've filled up the little thing and went once to 14.7 gallons.. and it wasn't anywhere near empty. Many times I go over 14 though. Shoddy gas stations or car playing tricks?

Filled up for the first time yesterday after taking delivery on June 2nd with a full tank and 5 miles on the clock. Went 369 miles on that initial tank full (374 on the clock) and filled it up with exactly 13.50 gallons.

If the tank capacity is indeed 13.2 gals I must have taken it down close to bone dry, as I'm sure there isn't much capacity in the filler neck. I did continue to pump after shut-off just so I could hit 13.5 exactly for mpg calcs. So, 369 miles on 13.5 gals yields 27.3 mpg for city driving.

Car is base Mini with no OCB.

Looks like im still the MCS MPT(Miles Per Tank) king been to the dragon twice both time been able to go from my door to the hotel or hotel to my door on a single tank and still been able to drive around. Which is 526 miles one way. That is for the long haul now for in town driving im lucky to get 260 MPT and for back and forth to work i get 320 roughly

I end up taking mine pretty low pretty often (yea i don't beleive the whole settling bottom of the tank thing). So i regularly see fillups around 13.5-13.9 gallons.

Also on my way up to the dragon i pulled 375 mi. to one tank on my MCS.
