Hey guys I'm new to mini's and new to the forums. I searched everywhere and the last post was all the way from 2006 about mc40's . I just picked one up all original but it has no plaque. I called my local dealer and mini USA neither had any idea what an mc40 was or how yo go about getting my production number. Am I S.O.L ? I don't really care if I ever get another plaque but I'm really interested in finding out what number out of 1000 the car is. If anyone can lead me in the right direction that'd be great . thanks a lot guys real happy to be a part of the mini family.

There are a few conversations about the Production Numbers in the thread, As far as I understand it, there is no way of tracking the VIN to the Commemorative Production Number, BUT... with several lists we might be able to help figure it out.

VIN Number, Built Date, MC40 Register, are a couple of bits of information that will help...

But I'll let some of the other members chime in...

Congrats on the MC40 +1 on the thread and parts are linked in that thread on whats left on the MC40's . See if you can match up the Vin to one that was posted. Some items and parts are now nla for the MC40.

Thanks guys they told me to build date was march 2004 so I'll take a look at that thread and see what I found I'm in NY car came.from ct its whole life .

 

Welcome. You will find your build date on the vin I'd tag in the drivers door frame.
