Del, as asaulo1 mentioned, his VIN no longer gets a response at WW. Asaulo1, check the August tracking thread at MINI2, speed_racer posted the booking # that had originally corresponded to his VIN.

2005ly, how do track the Mini through the production line. You stated in an earlier post that your car was in the paint booth and I've been looking everywhere on this site trying to find out how to track it. Also, where can I find out the info on the ship once my car finishes production. Thanks for the help!

 

Don't know if 2005ly had another way, but my only luck was with a live person at 1866ASKMINI. In my case, they were only about 48 hours behind real time (based on when my vehicle made it to Southampton), while the automated info was an additional 24 hours benind that and the Owner's Lounge a few additional days back.

Your MA may also be able to track more specifics on the MINI dealer's network.

 

Not to be rude but in all seriousness, I know that I personally have posted that info several times, and others have as well. Read some of the previous posts, I know newbies joining late are anxious to find out all of this stuff as we all are but all the info is already on previous pages and there is no way you can miss it. It takes up much of a post page. Try this link, and call ask mini talk to a person just as it says in the attached link, and good luck.

dlsmini, I've just done what everyone else has by following the directions on the mini2 faq (the same ones that HB05MCS posted a link to).

My advice - don't worry about checking the OL. It's pointless. I've had about the same luck with the automated ASKMINI as I have with a live person, but on occasion the live person has given me tadbits of more usefull information.

From what I hear, my MA is pretty on top of things. He's e-mailed me with updates and called me at work when Katie went into production. From what he tells me, it seems that I know about as much as he does (as far as what steps come next, etc). All of that knowledge has come from this site and MINI2.

Read through the complete August thread and then read through the complete July thread. Some duplicate information, but pointers from those who have gone through it. I have a personal blog listed in my profile that I update with information I think will be useful in the near future. You can check it out too.

My MA, Amy, said that the New Jersey VDC has been extremely busy and has been diverting some of the taffic to Charleston. I talked to her today, and she said that there would only be a slight delay. However I'm sure she is not counting the added days going to and stopping at Brunswick. She estimated about 10 days from docking to delivery. We'll see.

She did say that in her experience the ETA of the 24th may be optimistic. She would guess the actual docking to be the 25th or 26th.

 

I have been looking on the maps at 30N 40W and can't the Jingu Maru. I am looking on the Oceanweather.com site on the marine observations page to the south atlantic. Is that the right place?

 

For those of us booked on the Patriot to leave Southampton on the 13th.

The call sign is WQVY. The Bremerhaven port webpage has it in Bremerhaven on the 11th, which makes it one day behind schedlue as posted by WW.
I could not find it on the schedule of ships arriving in Charleston anytime to the end of the month. Anybody know why?

I talked to a man at WW just now via email. At least it tells us what we suspected, but doesn't give us any new info. I'm waiting to hear back from NYK, which should give me the info I need.

You are in the right place alright.... The thing is they do not always post data, so depending on when they posted last you may not be able to see the ship on the screen also i looked at different maps and used the time lapse on the top right which shows things for about the last 12 hours (i think) just have to slow the playback down a bit. Jingu Maru is JPPT not sure if I said that earlier. Good luck!

also just to ease you a bit.... there are numerous boats going to Charleston... :smile: (it is in Euro date so the day is first then the month!) Also keep in mind that there are other carriers that may be used such as K-LINE. Were you originally coming through NY, then you were told SC or always been SC? I can not see them bumping cars to a different port, it seems the way MINI does things that it would just stay at the NY/NJ VDC and wait. Considering SC has been having it's own supply chain issues. The added wait time would be a good deal for it to go to SC if you think about it (1 day extra on the boat, 1-2 days extra time to transport to the dealer) so if it sat in NY/NJ it would still be faster unless the wait time is 4-5 days there and save MINI money in shipping charges. Just an idea!

Katie is booked on the Patriot heading for Charleston (my VIN finally showed up on the WW site).

Gonna send my MA an e-mail just to verify that what he says matches what Amy told Del. I'll let you all know when I get updated.

 

I'm booked on the Patriot to arrive in Charleston on 8/24.

 

I was booked on the Patriot, until my VIN disappeared from WW, along with a number of others! We have probably been booked on a K-Line ship, but no confirmation of where or when that ship is to arrive.
