Hope to hear a good update tomorrow when I can get a live person at "Ask Mini".

I stopped by my dealer today and saw the '05 model. I like the updates! I also saw my first Solid Gold in person today at the Indiana MC Club's Poker run. I'll admit, I was just a little worried about the solid gold, but I LOVE it! I know I am still in the minority about that color, but it really nice...at least for a Boilermaker fan!

 

That's great! I always thought the pic you use in your signature really looked sharp. Being a University of Utah Ute, I really debated between Chili Red and Dark Silver, but the in the end, the introvert/Q-car lover in me won out.

 

The Patriot is at berth 4 in Charleston. If I read the schedule right, unloading should start at 8:00.

 

i'm on the INDEPENDENCE....how do i see where it is at sea?

But you need the call sign from the Coast Guard site first. Not sure how you figure out which Independence is yours (11 pages worth) though... maybe someone else can help you there.

Del and JohnMoses Browning - are you guys unloaded yet? I'm still onboard, but waiting impatiently. So, basically, are we in limbo then until someone/somewhere tells us that our cars are on the way to the dealers? God knows it won't be the OL!!!

 

I spoke with Molly at ASKMINI this morning and my MCS is on its way to the port (Southampton I assume). She said that once it leaves the factory my most up to date info comes from the dealership. Have you guys ahead of me found this to be the case?

not sure if anyone wants these, but i had them so:

Was sailing chesapeake bay on vacation and saw one of the Walllinius ships. I was hoping it was the AIDA ( which brought MY mini to the U.S. in May) but it was the turendot. Since we are obsessed over all things Mini, i thought it might be a nice keepsake for someone whose car arrived on this ship.

 

I'm sitting at the port of exit... I missed the ship on the 21st so I guess I'll be waiting until the 28th.

No evidence of unloading yet... I've been checking the WW site every couple hours this morning. I need a "twiddling thumbs" smily....

 

Do you know if the unloaded from ship message appears as easily as the loaded message did? I noticed that the Patriot arrived at berth 4 at 19:25 last night, but was not posted when I last looked at 9:30 last night.

I seem to remember from other postings that we are entering the tracking black hole. As stated above we may have to rely on our MA's to keep us informed.

2005LY, has Jarrod talked to you lately? I don't hear from Amy unless I stop in.

I dropped him an e-mail so we'll see... sometimes he gets back to me within hours, sometimes it's a full day later.

I'm sure hoping for that '2 weeks from VDC to dealer' stat since we're gonna be up the Cities for Labor Day weekend. That would be great if we could come home with Katie. :smile:

BTW, anyone here interested in riding the Dragon in May? My hubby thinks I've gone crazy [with all of this MINI stuff], but I think it would be a blast. We were planning on going down to GA in the spring anyway, NC wouldn't be much of a detour.

 

Looks like the Patriot has set sail again so all MINIs should be off the ship and ready to be checked out!!! Too bad the WW site isn't updated yet - No DISCHARGED notice for Katie.

mlebeau - mike, Julie told me that our cars (she said 4 cars, and I'm assuming that yours is one of the 4) should be in Classic no later than 9/1 and would be prepped, cleaned, etc. and ready to go on the truck no later than 9/10.... just like your post on mini2.com, we should see it around the 2nd week of Sept. Now I'm contemplating in flying to San Fran and take delivery with you guys over there and then drive my baby home..... by the way, my EDD on the OL is 8/27 :smile:

 

Ok, my baby should be getting on board the "Freedom" tomorrow and setting sail for the USA.:smile: I can't wait.

 

Since it looks like I didn't get updated in the new lists I'm sitting at port of exit awaiting transport to California.

Yep, mine is one of the four. Would be cool to have another owner take delivery with us up in NorCal, but I understand if you don't want to. Apparently 2 of us (Frankie and I) are in the Bay Area and the other 2 (you and someone else) are in SoCal, so they've got to deliver down there anyway. You'd probably save only about a day by coming up here, but you'd also get the nice drive back to SoCal. You could take Hwy 5 or something. Not a bad way to start breaking in the MINI.

Lemme know what you decide to do. Can't wait to get the car!! T-minus 3 weeks!

ME TOO! ME TOO! I can't believe I only spent 1 day waiting in Southhampton! I'm going to go buy a lottery ticket today! Of course, it does say "* Cargo is in Waitlist Status ", but hopefully that isn't a bad sign. At least I should know on the next update! How many of us are on the Freedom?

Mine finally left the factory yesterday headed for the port. Boilerup!, are you seeing the delivery status at the WW site? I'm so jealous!!!! I look up my VIN and it still says no info. grrrr....
