My gosh, I hadn't thought of that kind of thing. Do you suppose they will drink gas from something other than a BP station?

I'm sure American gas is an "acquired" taste, but there might be some indigestion at first.

Del,

Since you are in Minnesota and my car is going to Illinois, perhaps they will share a ride. They can discuss the scenery on the way

By Saturday delivery, do you mean tomorrow? If so, mine should reach the dealer much sooner than I expected.

Yes, but I don't have a confirmation on that at this time. I would think that since they unloaded at the same time, it should have been at the dealership for a couple of days.

I just talked to Todd at ASKMINI and the cars on the Freedom are to go to the distribution center tomorrow and he figures about threes days or so and they will be off to the dealers. I don't know if they will adjust to the southern heat and humidity compared to the UK climes.

The OL has updated for me and I am now En Route. Still no EDD. All I can do is play with the new 2005 configurator on the miniusa site and read your posts....

Well, the next time I post, I'll be a proud owner of a MINI!

I'm so excited. I woke up at 4 am and really couldn't get back to sleep. Sleep deprivation - the last step of MINI Mania.

Mine is on the Charleston dock - it's tempting to just drive down there! The next two weeks loom like an eternity...

We're back from the dealer with Katie. Got a few preliminary pictures. We're gonna go motorin' some more here shortly. I'll write more later, but we were very impressed with our MA. We found some residue on the door edges (from the tape) and a hard water stain on the chrome. Everything was buffed and wiped clean before we left. We asked for them to remove the (new) cup holder, but he couldn't find the correct screwdriver. So, he just showed us how to take it off ourselves. It'll be coming off soon - it's too ugly to ruin the nice interior.

Overall, a very pleasant experience!

2005LY - what a great looking MINI! I DEEPLY envy the fun that I'm sure you're having right now! Is that new cup holder on every 2205?

From what I could tell, the new cupholder was standard. I think it sucks. We actually tried using it since it was still installed and it's way flimsy unless you probably have a huge cup. And it sqeaks when I move it. Gotta get me one of the those hex screwdrivers.

We put on over 100 miles today motoring around. Taking the long route everywhere. We got 1 wave from a non-MINI (one of those new funky convertible trucks) & we got egged on by another new car that wanted to race or something (single lane road, no room to even try to race with all of the curves). Kept loosing her on the corners!

I did share the enjoyment and let my hubby drive some of the afternoon. Of course, he knows that he probably won't get behind the wheel for a while now.

Picked up The Car this morning . Motored around town before going out the the State Fair for a couple of hours. Met one other MINI on the road, flashed lights and exchanged waves. What a car! Absolutly everything as anticipated and then some. I agree with 2005LY about the cup holder, it's off already. Will write more and post more pictures tomorrow.

I found the easiest way to clean the wheels is like this

Figured I wold show off the perfect undercarriage

Needless to say we love our MINI.

Where did you get your estimated delivery date? The OL and automated line still say mine is in transit
