MountainGal - Did you post pictures? I can't seem to find them.
How did you mini do on the hills and mountains around there? (which I assume you have due to your name ) My PT Cruiser really lugs on some of hills out around here. That was my biggest concern with getting a MC rather than a MCS.

I have posted pictures in my gallery here (plus a lot on my OL resume)! They really show the many shades of Cool Blue - she looks so different in differing lights or even angles. We do have mountains here - Frieda did great! I had no trouble with more than enough power (in fact, I may have too much for the curves around here - we were really flying!). The 90 mile trip home from the dealer is about 75 miles highway, and we had no trouble with that either, except for staying within a "safe" speed! It was all too easy to simply go TOO fast - don't want any visits from the troopers! Weather here in our Appalachians is PURRRFECT for topless motoring - at least til Ivan hits!

I am now officially cured of MTF!!!

I can't believe it! The OL finally changed to at distribution center!!! I really am on dry land! what a relief!! Still no EDD in there, but I have my MA appnt on 9/20 - so not worried about that... figure this car may actually be at the dealer by now... I'm gonna give them a call and ask if they have any BEP on the show room floor

What a wonderful community you all have in NAM. It's nice to know there's a place to find like-minded, enthusiastic motorers who like to share.

I ordered "Annie",a 2005 Purple Haze/White MCS back in July from Classic and have been anxious for her arrival since that day. Her birthday was Aug. 14 and she should arrive any day now. I only recently discovered the wealth of information here on NAM. I hope I can at some point later this week can share some info and pics with you in return.

Welcome. All of us have or are enduring the wait to get our cars. I ordered my MCS in June and it was born Agust 20th and arrived in Charleston on September 3rd. It was supposed to have arrived at the dealer in Chicago Saturday, and then be trained out here to Portland, OR, hopefully arriving around the 24th. I will call the dealer today to see if the car arrived and their estimate of when then can get it shipped. You will also notice with this bunch, patience is NOT our strong point!! Hope you get your Mini soon.

i'm afraid it got damaged at the vdc.... the sales manager keeps lying to me and telling me it's going to come every day when it hasn't....i'm only 18!!! they obviously don't show me any respect....what if it was damaged and they don't tell me

 

ok just got a call, it's still at the vpc....it's been there since september 2nd...that's 11 days....the guy says no damage shows, but a bunch of cars are being delayed for some strange reason....AHHH I WANT MY FREAKIN' CAR

 

Went and picked up my baby this past Friday! I really like the small changes to the 2005 model. My wife says she want the newly redesigned cup holder in her MC 40. Not sure I'm that crazy about it, so I'll probably take it out.

I love my new car!!

 

I'm in a similar situation. At the VDC since 9/7 with no real info on when it will leave from my MA. I just sold my car and will be without it on the 18th, so I hope they release it soon.

 

This is great, the dealer in Chicago just phoned and the car did arrive Saturday and they are already fitting the aero kit. Should be ready for loading on the train at the end of the week. With luck I shall have my car on the 24th

 

Just checked the website and the Liberty is just off coast of Wilmington and Charleston is now visible and at the bottom of the map. It will definitely be there on time, unloading my mini and many others as well. I think from Charleston they go to the VDC in Greenville, SC and they should send the car out in 4 days max. So I figure I should get the car by the end of next week, at the latest. Now I have to plunk down $$$ on a radar detector. Oh well, I'm sure the fun of driving and a lead foot will pay for that soon enough. --jabrash

 

You will not believe what I just saw... blue Mini in the parking lot at work, temp dealer plate indicating pickup today! was outside with some co-workers oogling and the owner comes out... I asked about the color (thought it was PH 'cause it was darker than I thought HB would be)... Turns out its a HB MCS with JCW, Chrono, chrome trim, HK stereo, leather seats.... etc, etc, etc... turns out he had them take off the white bonnet stripes and replace the white rims with silver (whatever!)....
but this is the kicker..... he went in 2 weeks ago, asked them what they had, someone had ordered this AND NOT WANTED IT, so he picked it up!!!!
Now having waiting NINE months for a (custom) car from this dealer, I was in utter disbelief!! First that this guy had been able to completely skip the AGONIZING process of waiting!! and then that someone had gone through that process, and decided they didn't want the car!!!! CRAZY!!!!
