Sequence - I have been getting good info from Tcassa, about the Hojin. It took a little tracking and some calls to the dealer to get the ship figured out, but it looks like we have it right.

The $1k deposit? Guess I got lucky - no deposit needed from Niello Mini.

Yet another day waiting at the VDC for a shipper to take it to the dealership....Not only will I not have my MINI when I thought I would, I won't even have my current car! (sold this week, gone on Saturday) I hope they get moving quick.

 

the wait is due to many factors: too few dealers, too much demand, slim allocations (being corrected) and that we have to wait an extra couple weeks because of the longer boat ride and post-VDC shipping. Jimbo

I've posted elsewhere on my suspicous 10+ day "oil change" at the VDC. A few others may be in the same boat as my dealership finally informed me (after much prodding) that at least 4 of their Mini's had apparently received the "wrong oil" and that the replacement "parts" are to arrive tomorrow. I'm hoping this is a minor snafu, but something doesn't smell right here . . .

mine's been sitting at the vdc since last monday.....my edd was last thursday, and my dealer says i won't get it until this friday!!!!!!!

 

That's not funny. I've been waiting patiently for over a week now. If there are major problems, that would just plain stink.

 

just noticed that there's been a significant slow down in posts to our "august" thread... anyone else have taken delivery of their new babies? any news on your EDD's? let's hear it.... mine is presently on a truck on it's way from Classic Mini in Ohio to So. Cal. along with 3 other Mini's.... can't wait....... :smile:

I've been on a boat for over 2 1/2 weeks now although the list still says that I'm at port of exit.

Hopefully there will be a Hyper Blue MINI arriving in Oxnard in the next few days :-)

Well, due to a SNAFU, the Minis being trained from Chicago to Seattle/Portland will be delayed a week. Darn, my stress level and BP are way up

 

The Ewa is supposed to dock here in Hawaii today and my Mini is on it, but don't know if its landed yet. Will still be a while until I can get it, but I will have it (according to my MA) before my birthday on the 26th

 

My car has been at the VDC since August 24th waiting for an emergency brake handle. I'm wondering:

What happened to the handle in the first place?
Do they have to send the new part all the way from UK or Germany?
Does the part have to be shipped on a boat? Canoe?
Doesn't Mini use modern day shipping methods-planes for instance?
Once here, will it take another month to get that handle installed?

Of course, we are all "expecting this car any day".

Good to see that people are getting their MINIs (and some are still waiting...)

I've been thoroughly enjoying Katie. Although, after our ride back from dinner last night, she needs a bath big time. Stupid bugs. My hubby says that the bugs are attracted to her since she looks like a flower. :smile:

I've been looking at things to add on to her. One recommendation by a friend was a metal skid plate to replace the default small plastic one. I guess with the snow/ice and our stupid huge curbs, it would protect her much better. Even when I try to go super slow down a driveway exit, she still scrapes at times.

I've tried to get responses to this, but does anyone know if the service departments will care about this for oil changes, etc? I'll be talking to my MA soon, so I'll be sure to get an answer from him someday.

I've also had my eye on the double star stripes. Can't decide if I like the bonnet stripe or the side stripes best. Either way, I wouldn't worry about the roof stripe. What do you guys think? I would do a black stripe with the white border around the yellow star.

BTW, I'm finally getting the hang of the CVT. There are times when I take off slowly from a stop that it doesn't do its lurching thing. I'm so proud!

 

That's a tough one - they both look great. There is a Gallery on the site that shows different photos. Maybe you can get an idea of how each would look. I think the bonnet stipe is more bold and aggressive. The side stripes seem subtler. Depends which look you are going for. Glad you're enjoying Katie! Have fun!!!!:smile:
