Don't know who's following what thread, but it appears that VPC are releasing cars now. You can read the post in the July thread or on Motoringfile.com.

I've just started watching these threads and am relieved to see that I am not the only one obsessing. Thanks for all of the information about tracking. My MA at Southdale projected an October delivery, does that mean an August production date?
2005YL, we may be neighbors, how far SE?

Hi,
I'm out here on the west coast, but ordered my MCS through Knauz Mini in Illinois. Just talked to ASKMINI and they confirmed that my car will be built the week of August 16th (Week 34). I would imagine it would go to New York and then overland to Illinois. I'm having it shipped by train to Seattle. It is starting feel "real" now.

I've been calling Mini each day to check on my order, and each day thay have told me that the car is scheduled for production with no definite production date - until today! Now they say that the car is in production and should be finished August 6! Now I've been told that it takes about 10 days to build the car from start to finish, so it probably has been in production for 2 days without MiniUSA reporting it. So keep that in mind if you are dissappointed each time you call.
So it looks like my dealer's estimate of second week in September was right on!

It would seem to me that given the lag times at the docks and at the VDC we should be getting the cars at the same time. I'm hoping the bonnet strips and lights don't take too long for Motorwerks to install.

Just got confirmation from my MA that the 2005's have reached dealers and there should be no extended waits. My dealer Westchester Mini recieved the first truck full today. My car is still being built in Jolly ol' England but will be done the first week in Aug.!!! week 32 build that went into production last friday so I figure it will be completed around next wednesday and hopefully will be placed on the boat by the 10th of August!! we will see, I can not wait! Glad to see a lot of others excited and congrats to everyone eagerly waiting :smile: .

Del, so we probably ordered about the same day. Strange that our production numbers are so far off (mine is 74661xx) considering I thought that the dealers just got a chunk assigned at a time. My MA is Jarrod, we actually had to go over to the BMW Dealership to complete our order/purchase.

That would be AWESOME if we made it onto the boat for the 5th, I am trying to be optimistic but I do not think so b/c my vin still does not show up on the WW site and I am sure it would be booked by now if it was going out then. It will prolly sit around for a few and go out on the 10th hopefully, 8 day trip, 2-3 days at the VPC (not likely) and arrive at my dealer on the 21st. Have you ran your vin yet?
2005LY- Production numbers are very arbitrary, and are pooled world wide from what I gather by models and by dealer but they are not necesserily done in any order.

Actually, I asked a bunch of the guys in the July thread over at MINI2 about this, and some were going out the same day. They said with 2 days notice it's very likely I'll be put on the boat on the 5th. They also said not to expect your VIN to show up on WW until a day or two before or after production ends.

In Production!!!
Just got a call from my MA (at work, no less) to let me know that I was scheduled for production as of 2 days ago. As we were talking, he checked the updated information for today's status. I am officially on the production line today!!!
Still waiting for my VIN number. He didn't want to get my hopes up, but it might be an early September delivery! As you can tell, I'm all smiles...
He also said that Motorwerks MINI received their first shipment of 2005s today.
