Google it - tons of places. Most people don't really take the rebuilt route. If you have an '04 with less than 150K miles there is an extended warranty covered by mini. Also google able

Wow I must have gotten the rare pump that still runs at 225k.

However at 30k it kept blowing the cooling fan fuse. Did it 3 times I brought it to the dealer. They wired up the cooling fan to its own circuit. And replaced the wiring harness. Just now though when I start the car in the am the power steering will quit. So I pull over turn off the car and restart. And it works again. It will do this once a month and probably get worse until I need to take it apart and clean it. Or just replace it.

My ps is going south. I just noticed that my ps fan only runs when the radiator fan is running. I thought the ps fan should run constantly when the engine is running instead of cycling off and on.

Depends on the year...
Starting on 1-05 the wiring was changed...
Reality is the fan should be so quiet you don't know its on...
On the unmodified cars...built till 1-05, the PS fan gets its power from the same circurt as the radiator fan...and if the PS fsn siezes...it blows a fuse...basicly disables a relay, killing the radiator fan...some cars, like mine, were modified by the dealer to fix this, and they added a fuse for the PS fan...
Duct kit from the cabrio does help...if you can find it still...protects the fan from grit..

Zippy - I can't hear the fan but from under the car I could see that it only runs when the radiator fan kicks on. Stops when the radiator fans shuts off. Shouldn't the ps fan run full time when the engine is running?
I found the duct/fan kit at Pelican Parts listed for $282.25. Yikes!

duct when i got mine was about $85...from mossmini before they went classic only...
it is two plastic parts...a duct, and a replacement panel/splashguard for the underside of the car that the duct snaps into...
some cabrio's got is as a standard part...(forget if it was auto or stick) cars....so might be a good part to get from a person parting out a cabrio....be about a $15 junkyard part my guess...plastic junk is hard for them to give away....

Read this before you spend the money:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...50k-miles.html

Mini has extended the P/S Pump and Fan warranty out to 13 years or 150,000 miles on 2002 - 2005 models.

+1 check if you are still under warranty for the pump and the Fan.

If out of warranty for mileage then you have option here:

http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/SiteSearch/32416778425/

Also would be a great time to have a look at the P/S lines while you are there.

For certain years there is a recall from MINI on the pump and fan if it fails :
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...50k-miles.html

For the power steering pump , its electrical pump and see here :

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...fan-issue.html

Here is the power steering lines parts and DIY:

Thanks
