2006 r53 with dreaded PS leak..
I threw my car Barnaby 2006 MCS r53 up on jacks today for the first time since I owned it and noticed a large PS leak. I am under the impression that 2006 was the year they "fixed" the leak so it is NOT covered under warranty by MINI..is this correct? If what my MINI dealer tells me is true and I need to get it fixed on my own where is the first place to start on this?? HELP

I just purchased the necessary hoses to have my pump replaced. I found the inlet tube for about $41 (MINI O.E.) on eBay, and ordered the rest through FCP for about $70. You'll need the return hose, the two washers, banjo bolt, and because I like an original look, I ordered their crimp style clamps, though you need a special tool. It'll take a few hours at the most if your working in your driveway. Go onto realoem.com, you can get the o.e. part numbers.

Start with replacing the inlet hose with new clamps
The extended warranty from MINI for power steering pumps was for them being inop no leaking. And for MINIs produced prior to Feb 05.
