radiator fan
Hello all!
My wife and I joined the MINI family a few months ago, with the purchase of a 2003 Cooper S in liquid yellow. We love the car even with all the known problems and quirks.
I have been going through the car and taking care of problems and getting up to date on maintenance. With that I replaced the radiator fan assembly as the resistor pack was faulty.
Now on with my question... after I finished replacing the fan (and other work) I was standing back waiting and watching as I bled the cooling system, I noticed something that seemed odd to me....the fan was blowing forward. As in the fan was pushing air thru the radiator, condenser, and out thru the grill. This seems backwards to me. Is this normal or did I get a faulty fan assembly?
Thanks in advance for the help and knowledge!!!

gpwpat, thanks for the reply. I figured that was the case. I took a look at it this afternoon, and sure enough the fan side plug was wired wrong. I pulled it apart and pinned it out properly, now everything is working like it should. I knew that the resistor was available separately but cost wasn't far off from the entire unit so I just replaced the whole thing.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
