17x7.5 with ET45 wheels okay?

I have a 2005 Mini cooper (R50) with stock suspension and i wanted to know if the wheels i have an eye on are alright. I also am looking into others that have Et35 but thats an 8" wheel. I am thinking for my priority choice of 17x7.5 that i should get a 215/40/17 wheel. Would that be alright? Would there be any rubbing? Help Please ☺

I'm mildly lowered w/ 17x7.5 et40 on 205/45s, no issues. I rubbed the lower rear of the hind fenders w/ 215/45s.
You should be fine w/ your planned set up.
