Tranny/LEAK Spongy Clutch Help.

2005 R53 6-Speed, petal has recently becoming spongy and soft after what MY son describes as a loud hissing sound. Upon test drive, the tranny and clutch appear to be perfectly operational other than than the soft clutch and a rattle on clutch actuation at a very high RPM (which sounds very much like a Throw out bearing) I was thinking this light rattle may be due to lack of pressure on the clutch system. I am sure it is time for a clutch set, but can u explain the soft petal and the odd hissing sound at the time of malfunction?

The really scary issue is I noticed an odd fluid leak from a small hole at the very bottom of the tranny/engine assy where the two meet. I have heard of catastrophic TB failures that puncture (please say that is not it), but everything works..lol..just not well.

Any help or advice is welcome.

fluid coming from the little hole could be engine oil leak from rear main seal. how many miles you mini have? spongy feel could a broken clutch release fork. It happened to someone recently. he tried bleeding the system with no result. Took the tranny out and found out it was a broken fork. You could tried bleeding the system to start to see it helps. There is a right way to do it. do a search.
