I have been reading this thread and have a question since you are from the St. Louis area. I got my 04 mini in April and since I live in the Peoria, Il area had to go to Chicago to get it. I have about 3500 miles on it and eventually will have to decide whether to drive to Clayton, MO or Naperville, IL for servicing/maintenance, etc. I've heard so much postitive and negative (mostly) about the BMC dealers I was just wondering what your "relationship" with your Clayton dealer is? It's about 3 hours either way, so figured I would ask. Also if anyone on this thread uses the Naperville dealer, I'd love to hear from you. Hope this isn't too far off the topic.

Just wondering to all of you ordering new minis...I get attached to my cars. I love Steely and can't imagine trading him. I get excited listening to everyone talk about the new mods on the 05's, but I figure I'll have mine around for 5-10 years. Then I worry, what if I need to get another one and they aren't in production or they are so different that they don't even resemble the early ones. Look what they did to the Mustang and the T-bird. Does anyone else have that problem? I also have a truck with 107+ miles on it and six years old and figure I have at least 4 more years with him.

I have had my MINI into MINI of STL only a couple of times. Once for it's 1st 10,000 mile check up & a second time for a buzzing noise under the car. I had asked for the noise to be checked the first time but they "could not duplicate".
So I took it back & they had their "noise expert" look at it. I was in & out in 10 minutes They have always been very cooperative with me but then being of the female gender that may help Some of the members of our MINI Club have had issues but I've never heard of any horror stories. I am lucky to be able to keep my CR/B MC along with the Cabrio I am ordering. I could not give up Louie. My husband needs a new car & is more than happy to take Louie off my hands. In fact, he'll be giving me the money he gets from selling his Maxima:smile: But we are still keeping our 8 year old Miata named Fred. Certain cars you just get attached to.

Well I might as well chime in - especially since waiting is so clearly gonna be so hard.
I ordered my MCS two weeks ago from Tate Mini in Annapolis, MD. It is Production No. 749xx and that apparently sets production for the 37-th-week (early Sept). Status is still showing "On Order" but I'll be calling for an up-date soon.
My "S" will be CR/W with Premium and Cold Packages, anthracite and chrome interior with tartan red cloth/bl lthr, xenons.
This will be my second Mini, though the first was a long, long time ago - 1966 1275 "S". Other past loves: '73 911S, '81 BMW/Hartge 323i, '95 M3.

After re-watching the new Italian Job movie tonight, I will definitely be adding the stripes, but I will do it on my own instead of shelling out 100$ to have it done before delivery. And besides, mother doesnt like the stripes so she will be happy too that I ordered without. When i get them on there later, she can complain.

Hey, does anyone know if MINI still sends out swag during the waiting time? or did they kill that program once they saw that their cars were going to sell regardless?

My MA said I would be receiving "stuff". So I guess they are still sending swag. I got several things last time including a thermal MINI cup, a MINI journal, A MINI floaty pen & a lot of crazy things like toggle labels

Thought I would post to the top level to bring this back up where folks can find it.

I ordered on July 23. My ststus is still "On order", but the nuce folks at the MINI number told me on friday that I have been scheduled. They did not have an exact date but said it would be in September, with delivery in October.

Dark Silver MCS, leather interior, Nav system, Premium package, Cold weather package, Sport package, PDC, with chrome bumper inserts, JCW.

I just called ASKMINI & my Cabrio is scheduled for production week 37 which apparently is the week of Labor Day Sept 6. I don't think the Brits celebrate Labor Day so I hopefully won't have to worry about them having "one pint too many" My first MINI came fully equipped with MINI1 door sills. Must have been a holiday or a soccer game . I also see a pattern in the production #'s. Mine is 749XXX Ozbone's is 749 also with production week 37. NYCMINI's is 748 with prod week 36. Happy Monday! BTW, am I the only "girl" so far?

Like NYCMini, I also have a 748XXXX production number on my 05 MCSC. I called last week and was told it was scheduled for week 36 production. The owners lounge still say "On Order" when I check online.

MCSC - DS/B, Grey Leatherette, Alloy Patina interior w/assorted options.

And yes, the wait is killing me.

spoke to ask-mini last week and chatted with what had to be the most enthusiastic and friendly person there for a few minutes... she told me that production is often SOONER than they predict and that my car which is still showing to be started around august 29th (week 36) could actually start as soon as august 16th!

we shall see...
