Recording changed on Friday from awaiting shipment to "in transit". I spoke to a customer service rep to see what in transit meant. He told me it probably meant in transit from VDC to dealership since that is where it has been. He also stated I should expect it in 1 or 2 days since I am only 6 hours from the VDC (VA). My MA has also been very little help. She claims the problem is a backup of vehicles at the VDC (3,000). Maybe this coming week is the week. Is anyone else waiting for a vehicle off of the Carmen that went to VDC in NJ.
Thanks for letting me vent.

How's this for quick: I put a deposit on a HB/W MCS on Sept. 21 and it has already been built and is crossing the Atlantic. The Mini website gives me an estimated date of Oct. 20. This barely gives me enough time to sell my old car. Nevertheless, I'm counting down the days.
This is a great forum BTW-everyone's enthusiasm for this car is awesome. I'm looking forward to being a "regular" here.

Hey, in the OL, my factory Ordered options have finally updated to show some info. they have my three items: MFSW, DSC, Front fogs.
I think that I will be adding in the aux port myself at some point. after that, the parcel shelf may have to go in as well but every time I think about it, the price tag of the part puts me off :\
ONE MORE DAY!

Today is the day. It should be quite an adventure. The dealer is about 3 hours from my house (not the closest, but the most convenient to get to).
I am hopping a ride to Harrisburg this morning, and from there, an Amtrak train to a station just about 5 minutes from the dealer where they will pick me up. Hopefully I wont have to wait long before getting down to signing papers. From there, I will be driving the 3 hours back home.
Im fairly nervous about this, but excited as well. The thought of driving back in a new car kinda scares me, but its more about the financial responsability I cant wait, no waffling now! here we go! wish me luck, I will have photos later on.

Sorry in advance for the stupid question....
But is there any way to reverse track? I found the info about the shipping of my MINI but I would like to know her birthday. Am I just blind and have missed it on my car or paperwork?
I didn't order mine so I never got to go through all this waiting and watching.

Hi all,
Sunnie turned 1000 miles today of pure open air fun. I actually had the top up for a day or 2 due to rain here in St Lou. But it's down again today even though it's a little chilly(50's). I'll probably finish with the break in tomorrow as the STLMINI Club is having a rallye-about 250 miles.Absolutely no issues with the little car. Hope everyone is enjoying their MINIs & hang in there to those who are still waiting.
Happy Motoring

hi lois -
i'm at almost 600 miles in 2 weeks and plan to do about 400 this weekend on a road trip to hershey with my girlfriend to the spa there. i should be all broken in by next weekend. i have been driving the car firmly - and occasionally a bit aggressively - but never over 4500 rpm. i was told by my dealer not to baby it completely - but just stay under 4500 rpm. the cvt has been tested in all modes - inclduing sport and manual - and its just a blast. very peppy indeed! i have had zero problems and 100 percent joy through the last two weeks. the thing that surpirsed me the most though is how much people stare and want to talk to you about the car... very cool!
happy and safe motoring all - drew

so hopefully my sisters mini arrived at the dealership today, soooooo, i can hope that we can get the paperwork squared away and have our cars on a truck at the beginning of next week hopefully!! Argh, the only upside is that i am insanely busy right now and have some distractions from this extra wait. tick tock tick tock tick tock.

1) Get your Production Number from your Mini Advisor (ie. 7487xxx)
2) Set up a username and login into MiniUSA's Owners Lounge (OL) at https://ol.miniusa.com/oemainlogin.asp and jot down your mini's VIN number under "Review Order Detail"
3) Call 866-ASK-MINI (866-275-6464) to get an update on your car's production. Always speak to a live person by saying, "Customer Service".
4) If your baby is built, go to the Wallenius Wilhelmsen site at http://213.31.205.37/GLWebApps.AppTracking. Click on Track Cargo By "Auto". Enter your VIN. Take down the Vessel Name. (ie. Patriot, Liberty)
5) If the vessel has departed, go to
http://cgmix.uscg.mil/PSIX/PSIX2/VesselSearch.asp to find the vessel's call sign using the vessel's name.
6) Goto to http://www.oceanweather.com/data/index.html and click on the area of the map where your vessel should be, then click on "marine observations." Look for your vessel's call sign. Or go to http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/ and enter the vessel call sign. I like this one better, it shows you the vessel name on the map.

This is from much earlier in this thread. If you are not on Wallenius Wilhelmsen, your car will not show up. If ASK MINI says it shipped and it doesn't show up, it probably is on K-Line. They don't have any good way to track cargo on their ships.
