R50/53 introducing myself and scooter
#52
Hello all! Another update, had an impulse buy and picked up a hoop scoop from LEAP. Nice piece and much cheaper an alot of others out there
Before install
After install
Opening difference between the two scoops (I need a new hood emblem I know lol)
Next up was coil pack, plugs and wires
Pull the plugs wires off the coil and bam! Corrosion lol that won't do
Pulled the plugs and was happy with the way they looked
Finished with the job
Now I opted to put on an oem coil, even though I have a new msd in the box. A few people had told me and I stumbled across one story stating the msd coil was crap and one actually said the msd coil blew up his motor, which I don't believe to have cause his motor to tank lol but anyways should I be worried to put it on my car? I'll listen to any opinions on this!
I also got a chance to install my ddm intake!
About an hour and a half job, but all and all pretty easy I thought, worse part was fighting my new silicone intake to TB hose on haha
Before
After
And of course a new video, showing off the noise!

I went with the Leap because the bulge isn't as large as say M7 scoops because I'm not a huge fan of those either. And when it's painting body color I think it will be even better

Cool car! The engine bay is looking nice. I had similar corrosion on my coil terminals when I bought my car. I wasn't prepared for how quickly it would come back though, I've had to really cake on the dielectric grease lol.
Did you do something with that black plastic intake tube? (the stock piece that draws air from above the radiator) I can't tell if it connects to anything with the new intake or if its just a placeholder.

Hello!
So I knocked out my first autox day! Have lots of room for improvement but had a blast!
Swapped in some yellowstuff ebc brake pads a few days ago too. Still have yet to do the rears but I need to order some disks for the rear before I do
And one video of my fastest run, 6 secs off the days leader though haha

No no no it was terrible out the first day. Rain, snow, sleet.
High temp was 37. Wind picked up to 45mph and we called it quits mid day. Second day was better, no precipitation but it's was 27 degrees in the morning. High was 45 I think lol

After swapping in EBC yellowstuff up front I decided to get new rotors for the rear before swapping the yellowstuff pads in (they were extremely worn). Decided on ATE slotted rotors. Installed today, and huge difference in bite and braking power
Also adjusted my 19mm rear swaybar to its tightest setting and wow! Such a minor position change but a huge difference in the feel of the car! Love it

I haven't personally but i know the PO did a few track days. I plan to go to Putnam this year at least once. The car is set up for it so it would be a waste to not do it!

Mine were sticking and when you pull the boot out , corrosion gets under it and bubbles the boot inward and the pins stick.
