Key Problem

This morning I went to turn on my 2006 and the lights and radio went on but the starter didn't engage. I tried it a few more times and nothing. Took the key out and put it back in the same way and nothing. Finally turned the key around so the face of the key was away from me and it started like normal, for now. I'm afraid that the key won't work either way soon. Does anyone have any input into this situation?

It could be a problom with the ignition. Or if you got it used the last owner could have tried to turn it on without the key or i could have been stolen. Probably an ignition problom

Thanks. It could be the battery since the car sits during the week. I cleaned up the key (I only have one) and it worked normally after that. We'll see what happens this coming weekend. Thanks for the replies.

I don't know what you know or not, so don't take this the wrong way: are you sure you had the clutch pedal pushed down all the way the first time? There's an interrupter switch in there...

There is no reason the key facing one way or the other would matter.
