well yeah, but do those backwards countries have Starbucks? I mean seriously, where are you supposed to put your double expresso latte with soy milk and cinamon in a Renault LeCar?

Besides, some of us like to multitask while we drive. If it weren't my daily commute I don't know when I'd get the chance to catch up on American Idol. Thanks indash DVD!

Joe Dentist you are right about the MINI not being good at piano moving, deep snow,or more than four people. But up here, even in rural areas snow plows are aplenty. After driving 35 winters,in all sorts of vehicles,FWD,small cars are fine in snow.My classic Mini,Renault 12 Nordic wagon, and my MC are the best cars I have driven in the winter.RWD goes straight ok,but changing direction is dicey,4x4's are great in deep snow, but I'm not talking backwoods here.If you are driving in a heavy snow fall,go slow, pay attention! If your driving in a blizzard, your an idiot

Terrible but true. Live with it.
Same goes for anything that is not a 4x4 pickup truck crew cab I guess.

Pianos aside, carrying extra people is not being discussed here. I took my MCS through thew last New York winter with no issues. Deep snow (i.e. 12" or so) did cause some issues with the spoiler scooping it up until the radiator vents started to get clogged. But traction was excellent for something that was 2 wheel drive.

Heading down to the supermarket parking lot for some midnight R&R reverse 180's and the like was a treat. Predictable handling and more grip than I was expecting.

I would say get a set of rims with Blizzaks and go for it. Tires and rims as a package from TireRack, $500.
