R50/53 Rear bumper removal?

Rear bumper removal?
When I bought my R53 in August the rear bumper was damaged. It had some black paint transfer and minor cracking, which I can live with for now, but what is growing more difficult to live with is this really annoying rattle that occurs whenever I go over a small bump. In other words, it rattles almost constantly. I'm assuming I have some missing/broken clips or fasteners, but when I had it on the lift a few weeks ago I couldn't make out how it was attached to the carrier, or whatever it is attached to. The exhaust blocks the center section and that's where the rattle appears to be emanating from as the bumper seems loosest at the center. Are there any motoringfiles or something on rear bumper removal? Just need to figure out how to firmly attach the thing.

It might worth checking the hatch:
There was a few updates to the rear hatch over time to address rattles
The striker plate was updated it went from a silver plating to a black paint
There was a second set of bumper/snubbers added to the screws that hold the bumper cover. If you call MINI you'll die rolling on the floor considering that they're over $45 for two pieces of rubber the size of a pinky tip. Needless to say I've choosen to live with the rattle.

The parts diagram shows some of the attachment points.

14/15 is a bolt accessed from underneath. To expose the ones on the side, you need to remove the arch trim and wheel well liner.
It would be worthwhile if you purchase a Bentley manual.

Here is a NAM thread with some steps on the removal. If you find anything broken and need it let me know as I can help you out.
