R50/53 which motor mounts

Get a vibra technics upper, power flex in the tranny mount, and then I did a vibra technics torque mount and it is awesome you really will feel the shifting is way more responsive as the motor is much more solid yet it is not like it is fixed mounted giving crazy vibrations all the way through the car. Your motor need to be held good before you really can even think about adding a bunch of other mods because you are just then creating more stress on the failing mounts, if they are in deteriorating shape.
#3
I hear good things about the BSH lower mount and the vibratechnics upper mount. the WMW is good, but many people don't like the fact it brings in more vibration. the powerflex will do the same, but not on the same scale. if you don't mind the extra vibration (and frankly I don't even know how much more) grab the wmw. that will never be replaced
#4
Just be warned that any 'performance' motor mount will transmit more vibrations to the cabin. The lower dogbone mount doesn't rattle the cabin too badly but the other mounts will turn your car into a rattle trap. If you don't mind, go for it. Personally, I just replace broken mounts with stock ones, understanding that the front mount has a life span of about 40k miles.

OEM , if you dont want that extra vibration to a degree. Or PF if you want something a bit tighter, the PF one is and insert so it can be taken out if your perfer. The smaller one is a full replacement .

I personally have had great experience with the Vibra Technics upper street mount but perhaps this overview of your options might help.

The Torque Solutions lower mount HERE is a popular choice. The Powerflex bushings are also a good choice. Make sure to go with the ones meant for street and not track use.

Thanks for the input everyone. I ended up going tsw upper, and stock replacements for the others, and bought the powerflex poly insert for the dogbone. Hopefully this setup doesn't vibrate too much. If it does, it won't be too difficult or costly to swap out the upper for stock and remove the insert.

I'm also looking to get new motor mounts but I'm curious as to how extensive the job is. I've got a supercharger service planned (with new thermostat water pump and gaskets all around at the same time) and I am curious if this is a good time to do the mounts.
I'm pretty sure mine are oem from the factory and it's an 03 so it's definitely time to replace.

Do them all at once, with that age on the MINI its most likely time to do them. The uppers can be a bit harder but not to bad, the lower is easy .
Upper motor mount R53- 12/2003 , there is a split year in 12/2003. So watch for that.
All the powerflex and OEM options.

And then those rubber buffers: 22116754183 OEM priced each, easy to do with the motor mount. Superpro has the buffers in poly.

Could you (and Pelican in the interest of fairness lol) point me to the parts on your site for the PF bushings I'd need for all of the mounts except the front one which I think I'll upgrade to a TSW or vibratechnics

FWIW, on my 05 I have the Vibratechnics upper and lower mounts.
After getting my stock 06 I can't believe how quiet it is inside... to the point I'm reversing the installation of the upper mount and removing the strut bar on the 05 to see if I can take away the NVH and make the ride quieter. I'll report back in a month or so after I make the changes, I'm really curious if I introduced the NVH or if it's other issues.

1. The entire motor/transmission seems much more solid..no more engine rocking.
2. There is more vibration from the motor that you feel...quite a bit actually. BUT...as soon as you get the motor over 2000rpms or so, it completely goes away. I don't mind the added vibration.......but you can definitely feel it.
