R53 power steering fuse
I believe my power steering pump has failed. I hear noise from the power steering pump even when the ignition is off. I just replaced this ps pump a few weeks ago, and now it has now again failed. It has caused my battery to die as well. I would like to isolate the power steering in the meantime. Which fuse should I remove? Is it the 100A fuse? or is there a fuse for the PS control board that I should remove instead? appreciate any help.

As I understand, the recall covers only up to 2005 model and there is also a limit on the mileage. I have 2006 R53 and 150,000 miles which I believe excludes my car from the recall unfortunately.

When you installed it did you make sure to bleed all of the air out of the system? Might not be it as you hearing it with the ignition off does sound like a pump issue. See if this list may be useful HERE. You're sure the noise you're hearing is from the pump? If the pump is your issue again, most of the time when you purchase one, depending on where you did, they come with a parts warranty. Check and see what warranty info is for the pump you purchased.

This reman has a lifetime warranty but it still sucks as it is time and money lost in labor and fluid.
