Mini on NOS 1/4 mile ...

I found this slip of a Mini running nitrous:

anyone else running nitrous? how durable is the Mini S engine? can it take more and still remain reliable?

This won't hurt a bit.......

I run nitrous, but not in the car.

Nitrous is better used on newer cars. And most new cars can handle a respectable amount of additional fun factor via nitrous. A 50 shot system wouldn't be that bad for a 4cyl. engine. Maybe could swing for a 75 shot. But wouldn't go more than that on a 4cyl without worrying about reliability. But with a MCS, being that it's already supercharged, I wouldn't really go more than a 50 shot kit.
Also, it all comes down to using nitrous right. Most people/kids don't do their homework. They want and use it without the proper education. There's a lot more involved with it than most care to realize. Activating it at the right time, check to see if engine is running too lean or rich, bottle warmer and temp, adequate pressure, having a knowledgeable tech do the install, and one big one,.........not hitting the redline while having the nitrous still active.
Just my thoughts.
Cheers,
