R50/53 headlight bulbs

headlight bulbs
So it looks like my headlight bulbs are about to run out on my 2004 MINI Cooper (not S, if it matters). The one we pulled off the car is Osram Xenarc D2R 35W 66050. Amazon has a pair for $99. Looking online revels dizzying selection of bulbs in various styles/brightness/whatever.
I need an easy answer. If you have replaced your bulbs for less than $99, please post a link.
If it matters, I do like the brightness of the bulbs in my husband's Infiniti G37. It would be nice to have brighter headlights on my MINI. But if they are going to be outrageously expensive, I'll deal with it.
