Post clutch replacement questions?
I just finished a clutch replacement this past weekend. Went with the Valeo Single Mass kit. I had a couple questions if you all care to chime in.
The new clutch is very very light and touchy compared to the tractor like feel I used to have. I've been told this will tighten up some over time. True?
While the trans was out I drained and replaced the oil w/ MTL Redline fluid. Changing gears now seems a lot smoother/easier, is this the new oils' doing?
Thank you.

One more - What's the thickness I should see on an older friction disc? The disc I pulled looked pretty good and evenly worn. Not quite to the rivets but getting close. Since I didn't have a stock disc to compare I was curious. Also, if the flywheels not making any noise or clunking would it be a viable replacement for someone on a budget?
Thank you.
Thank you.

The pedal will be immensely lighter with the Valeo conversion, but does get a bit stiffer over time. Did you have to bleed the slave? Did you have to replace the slave? If there is air in the clutch hydraulics you will get a poor pedal feel, we have to do either a quick bleed on near every car we do a clutch in or replace the slave and bleed.
I wouldn't recommend a used clutch for anyone, especially if they can swing the extra few hundred dollars for a full Valeo setup. You're putting a lot of time and money on the line by running a used clutch that was replaced, and probably for a reason. Most of the time we are doing clutches we are finding the disc is either worn past the siping, glazed, totally gone, or there are hot spots in the flywheel/pressure plate. For the time you'll invest to do the job I highly recommend buying a new unit.

NK, I didn't bleed the hydraulics. It feels smooth, just a lot easier/lighter then the old setup.
I'm going to go ahead and chuck the old flywheel in the recycle bin.
This morning I did notice a new "Click" like sound when I release the clutch pedal while the car is idling in neutral. Not sure where that is coming from. Seems like I can hear the gearbox and shifts a little more then before but that might just be me concentrating on it all more than before.
