Megan header and stock cat?
Just installed the Megan Racing header and cat delete test pipe on my '04 R53 but I want to be a considerate citizen of the planet and install a cat. The header was replaced because the first cat split in two but the second seems to be just fine. Is 12 years and 140k miles more than I should really expect from the original cat or should it me fine for many more years and miles on the new header? I really don't want to spend the money on a new cat unless I really need to.

Mine cracked at the same spot due to improper work done by a coworker to do a catback and install my XForce muffler. They are known to crack there as well. I ended up buying a OBX for a temporary replacement until I get the RMW probably next year. I cut the factory cat off of the stock manifold and widened the ends so that I could get 2.5" tubing welded on both sides. Haven't had any issues with the stock cat and I know that it's fairly reliable, so that's why I kept it.
It's yet to be installed, as I need to get my exhaust wrapping and other bits.
