South Bay (Los Angeles area) Mini Drivers Club...any interest?
Hi:
There are a few of us here in the Palos Verdes/Torrance/Beach Cities area that are interested in forming a casual organization, devoted strictly to driving our MINI's - no scheduled meetings, no formalities, no board of directors, just DRIVERS who want to join like minded Mini enthusiasts to enjoy their cars. Our thoughts are to meet every 6 - 8 weeks or so, explore some of California's twisty backroads, coastal roads etc with the goal being to enjoy our cars and make new friends.
If you own a MINI (new or old) and are interested in getting together as an informal group, drop me an e mail at viraf@***.net.
Best Regards,
Viraf

I'm reviving this old thread because I just got my MINI and I live in San Pedro. I'd be very interested in getting together with some local folks. Also, a word of warning for folks that like to enjoy PV peninsula drives: I've spotted multiple sherriff's units on multiple days lying in wait at pullouts on PV Drive East (That sweet stretch of curviness that goes from Trump's Golf joint past Marymount College, and through Miraleste). It's a pleasant enough drive at legal speeds anyway - plenty of very tight truns, and beautiful views of the coast.
Anyway, I'd be interested in sharing some drives, and I'll be around the Peninsula. I'm hard to miss: Liquid Yellow MCS soft-top, soon to have dark silver stripes on hood and bonnet. I'll wave if I see you!

Well, I PM'ed the originator of this thread and got no response, so one month later, I'm thinking we're on our own...
I'm still interested in getting together informally with other local drivers, so if anyone's still interested, let me know.
In the meantime, I've really been enjoying the activities put on by SCMM: the Southern California Mini Maniacs. I've been to two of the monthly breakfasts (Malibu and Seal Beach), and a run and picnic (Toro Canyon). These are really nice folks who love their MINIs. There's an annual membership fee, but it's nominal, and totally worthwhile. Get info at:

Well my own club, c3, would be interested in group drives as well. No membership fees, and free detailing of your MINI and use of Meguiars products. Feel free to PM me about arranging something. Our next detailing/drive event is next Saturday--June 18th.
