Dimensions of metal battery holdering in back of R53

I bought my 2002 cooper s from a guy who straight piped the exhaust and though it was cool it just got to be a little annoying at times and have since replaced it with a used stock exhaust.
So what I am wondering is if anyone could measure or has the size of the metal box the battery sits in so I can relower it because the battery sits to high and the carpet can only sit at a 45 degree angle and no battery bracket. I hate this since nothing big or heavy can go in the back so thats what I am looking to fix and get a battery bracket.

Thanks this is what I am talking about:

The battery box is 13.7" side to side, 8.6" fore and aft, and 6.8" deep. The forward right hand corner has a 2.0" X 2.0" X 45 degree chamfer
