Rear Window Washer - 2005 MCS

I cannot figure out how to adjust the spray on my rear washer jet. It basically sprays the spoiler and trickles down. I have the new shop manual, but it only goes to 2004 and they appear to have changed the jet for 2005. I don't have a "slot" for a screwdriver adjustment - appears I just have the squirter itself, but it does have a flat spot on the bottom as if you could put some tool on it to adjust in and out ??? I have no idea - anyone out there figure this one out yet? Thanks!!

Get a large straight pin with a ball end. Put it in the spray jet, and aim the pin where you want it to go. Take the pin out.

Ok - not that I doubt you, but everything I have in writing says do not put anything sharp in the jet. I have adjusted older sprayers in the manner you describe, but I don't want to screw anything up on my Mini. Have you done this to adjust yours?

Now I'm not sure about the 05,but on my 03 the rear sprayer has what looks like something a fine sloted screwdriver would fit into,it will, turn it to the left a notch, and the washer should hit the window not the roof.Mine would spray the bonnet, and miss the rear window, from the factory

Look for a set screw back there... NEVER stick something in the nozzle on the MINI.

The front washer nozzles can be aimed using a small pin to 'swivel' the nozzles around (they have ball ends and move in their sockets), the rears on earlier models have a slot, the newer ones have another method I am unsure about (my documents only cover up to '04).

The 05 rears have the same 'swivel' nozzles. The pin does not harm the nozzle. I have just made the adjustment and all is fine.

Thanks all for a great thread (ps picked up '05 CR/B MCS last nite)

OK so I have one "issue" only, and it's with misaligned washer "jets" - we're not talking "slight" misalignment either, front AND rear . While it's far from a complete buzz-crusher, I still Must... Fix.... Now!

Well, being an experienced lurker and general pest, I had a feeling this information would be found around NAM someplace. What I didn't expect was to find the exact fix(es), complete with feedback and stuff, on the Very First Search .

Thanks y'all, and man is this car fun,
Tatt
