R53 Oil Pressure Switch

I'm trying to track down a stubborn oil leak around my oil filter housing. I have replaced the housing to block gasket and the heat exchanger o-rings. I also replaced the oil pressure switch when I was getting an intermittent oil light. Yesterday while I was under it trying to figure out why it is still leaking I noticed the the oil pressure switch was loose so I tightened that back down. I also noticed that the black plastic part of the switch could rotate freely in the switch. Please see included image. Is that normal or could that be part of my issue? Thanks for any input you may have.

I just replaced mine a few weeks ago, at 155K, not because it was bad but because I was a changing the gasket and o-rings. I saved the old one and it definitely does not rotate.

Thanks JAB 67. I appreciate it. Looks like I’m going to have to try another one.
