CVT rubber band start
Is there a fix or at least a way to improve the rubber band start of a CVT Mini?
At one point, I replaced the buffers around the transmission motor mount and thought it had improved. These are the four inch square rubber pads between the rubber mount and tranny clevis.
I've also heard things about improvements by doing a transmission adaptation reset.
My daughters car is a regular 2005 Mini with CVT and has about 75,000 miles. I replace the CVT fluid about every 35,000 miles. I also recently replaced the tranny speed sensor. Otherwise, it has been trouble free.

Ha! Yes, squirrels.
For the uninformed, a CVT car will jerk forward and then slow, and then jerk forward again and back. It's as though there is a rubber band in the drivetrain.
It takes a steady foot to launch smoothly and it helps to delay a second or two after putting it in drive.
I'm just thinking BMW wouldn't have sold it this way and something has changed that I'm unaware of.

I seldom get the " rubber band start ", I too have had the fluid changed every 30,000 miles and also the adaptations reset. It does need to idle smooth with little variation in RPMs, it also helps to take your foot off the brake and let the car creep before taking off. Just turned 180,000 miles
