Normal driving temp

running and parked temp...

driving temp for the most part...
soooo...

theres a million theads on this. Temp seems normal while cruising, doing about 50 temp seems normal. If I stop and park and keep car running temp rises... fan goes on, and it does drop , but still is this normal?

Note, i have replaced pump, thermostat and housing bled system... am i looking into it too much? I do recal reading someone post temp normally runs abit hot.

On my Gauge Pack car I see the same readings when driving. When parked and idling the needle goes slightly past the point it sits at when driving and the low speed fan kicks on for about 30 seconds and cools it right back down. If I recall correctly the low speed fan stage should kick on ~221F... My low speed was blown. I find it better to monitor temperatures with an OBD tool or I think there is a way to get coolant temperature on the OBC readout as well.
Definitely take a look and see if your low speed fan is working. There is a possibility it may not and you may actually be hearing the high speed stage kick on around ~234F.

Fan temps here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...mp-cut-on.html

Low speed fan fix here (Long read but worth it) : https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-solution.html

Also if you have functioning air conditioning you can run the A/C when you drive the car which should keep the fan spinning until you have a chance to fix the low speed stage (if it is broken). That should keep the car from overheating.

Thanks Tej98, will look into it more. I do think only my secondary fan is kicking on. Is it necessary to put car on front end service mode to replace the resistor?

On my 2005 I was able to just splice in the resistor linked in that thread. Didn't have to go into front end service mode, but I think on the preface-lift cars it may be different. But seeing that you have gauge pack I am guessing you have a 2005 or 2006?

Okay, then it should be a fairly simple fix. I think I spend around $20 for everything.

Mine started acting as you describe after my reservoir broke. No leaking coolant but lose of pressure in the coolant system...

another thing to check maybe
