06' JCW Cabrio price

Hello Looks like i'm going to buy a 06' JCW Cabrio and looking for what should be a reasonable price to pay. The car has a clean carfax and shows very nicely in grey. Equipped with Aero kit, JCW engine/exhaust package, JCW brakes, JCW LSD transmission, Crono pack, harman Kardon, black vinyl seats in excellent condition. No Nav, carbon dash or hood scoop. Car has just under 60k miles on her. Just thought I would put it out there. Thanks for looking.

Pure guess, but maybe $7,995 tops?

You probably should have put this in the first Gen JCW section, you might get more replies and a better price quote

Bryan (I also own a "06 R52 JCW car)

In my limited experience, pricing on first Gen cars is really challenging to determine. Condition plays big role, but so does geography, desirability of options, etc. Also, these cars are so inexpensive considering what you get for the dollar, that people who really want a particular car with the most desirable options (a terribly subjective concept itself) makes for a wide range of what people would consider a "fair" price.

Also, what's your purpose for buying? Are you looking to buy and keep, or are you expecting to sell soon and not lose a lot on resale?

Sounds like you have a lot of experience with these-- I'd suggest that you already know whether you like the price, and don't need us supporting your decision.

For ME:
  • A 60k mile 06 JCW with aero, LSD, and chrono would be a very attractive car that I'd spend a premium for (assuming that condition matches mileage).
  • A convertible would be a deal breaker. I olve convertibles, and have had at least one in my garage for most of my life, but I've never really been a fan of the MINI convertible. No logical explanation, just my quirk.
Bottom line is a fair price is one that would not prevent you from smiling while driving away in it.

Thank you for your input. This whole thing really started when I spotted it and the lot had expressed interest in our E70. I kind of scrambled to try and asses the value on the JCW. I found nothing available, not surprising I guess as it’s a rare car. I ended up not doing the trade but rather bought it outright. Couldn’t pass it up as I have yet to see one in person.

My '06 R52 JCW car I paid $1,350 for last year....needed a ton of work, see my thread in the JCW section in here. Grab a drink and make yourself comfortable.....it's a long read

Congratulations, that’s a nice find! Hard to beat a first gen JCW with Aero kit and low miles. Post up pics when you can.
