R52 Do bad struts ever clunk? Suspension clunk...

Bushings
Yeah, they looked fine with no visible damage. I was only able to replicate the sound slightly by rocking the car side to side pretty hard. I had a friend do it when I put it up on ramps and felt around under the car. Sure enough the sway bar was moving side to side. I have a thread on the whole ordeal. I walk through the steps I did to replace the bushings without dropping the entire subframe. It is doable but it is a pain in the ***.

FIXED!!!
Short story - sway bar D-bushings.
Kinda embarrassing after all that. That clunk has been my companion for 4 years now! So annoying. If you read the thread you'll see I looked for it several times, always checking these bushings, but could never produce any movement that I noticed. Well, this time I did, on the pass side bushing. Hot damn...finally! I installed new poly bushings from SuperPro, and the test drive was ALL GOOD! Sweet silence. Well, that's not true, the dash rattles...C'MON, it's a Mini! LOL
I also replaced the end links because the boots were torn, but they didn't yet have any play in them. Along the way I replaced, with no impact to the clunk:
- Both strut mounts which tore. Made sure the top nuts were tight.
- All struts with Koni red ones...FSD I think? I really like them, they took the edge off the hard ride.
Love me those little victories!
